Application Information Request

American researchers and international research collaborators, we need your help on behalf of a brand new research and education Internet called AMPATH! Not familiar with AMPATH? See About AMPATH.

Purpose of Request: We are soliciting high-performance network dependent application information from all potential AMPATH users, whether through membership in AMPATH, or the need/desire to collaborate with researchers and educators in the AMPATH service area (meaning our potential users could be anywhere in the world). Your assistance (as soon as possible!) will help identify the universities and research centers in the AMPATH service area who require, or would take advantage of, high-performance connectivity to research institutions in the US and worldwide if it were available.

We are compiling this information to help justify the design and implementation of an adequate networking infrastructure between the US and Central and South America, Mexico and the Caribbean (the AMPATH network service area), to US funding agencies as well as AMPATH's corporate sponsors. Your response may help substantiate the need for high-performance networking from these countries through Miami, where we plan to aggregate traffic before forwarding to STAR TAP, the NSF-funded next-generation Internet exchange (NGIX) in Chicago. Currently, funding has not been identified for application development, but we hope that productive collaborations will lead to funding in the future.

Information Requested: For now, we only need you to identify either existing projects or potential projects with international collaborators in the US, Central and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean, Canada, Asia or Europe.
