Caribbean Regional Emerging Networks Meeting – New Orleans, Louisiana, October 13, 2008
The Caribbean Regional Emerging Networks will meet on October 13, 2008 as a side meeting to the Fall Internet2 Annual Members Meeting. The meeting will be held at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The Internet 2 meeting is hosted by Louisiana State University and the Louisiana Optical Network Initiative (LONI). The program includes many outstanding track sessions covering a broad range of topics. The 662 attendees, representing all Internet2 membership categories, will take advantage of our in-person gathering to accomplish an impressive amount during the 77 Working Group, Special Interest Group, and Birds of a Feather meetings. In addition, we welcome 75 first-time registrants to our member meeting, as well as 74 international attendees. Meeting attendees also participate in several activities surrounding our community-led Strategic Planning Process. For the first time ever, Internet2’s Advisory Council meetings were open, enabling meeting attendees to learn more about Internet2 governance and the important work going on within the Councils.
